Inference savaged the line to win the Group 1 Randwick Guineas (1600m) last time out and remains the outright $3.30 favourite in 2017 Rosehill Guineas betting markets, ahead of Prized Icon and Gingernuts; currently tied on the second line at $6 quotes.

Will Inference justify favouritism win the Rosehill Guineas, or will one of his talented rivals post an upset?

Comin’ Through ($8)

Comin’ Through has been a strong and consistent performer for Chris Waller through his short racing career so far and appears as though he will relish a step up to 2000m in the Rosehill Guineas on Saturday. Winner of the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) in spring, the Fastnet Rock colt resumed for fifth in the Group 3 Eskimo Prince Stakes (1200m) and has since finished third in each of the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes (1400m) and the Randwick Guineas. Comin’ Through’s half-brother Criterion won his first Group 1 title in the 2014 edition of the Rosehill Guineas and the three-year-old is bred to get the distance of the race.

Inference ($3.30)

Inference’s performance last time out suggests that he will only improve over a trip and he should prove extremely tough to beat in the Rosehill Guineas. Inference stamped himself as a colt to follow through the recent Spring Carnival; finishing third in each of the Group 3 Ladbrokes Classic (2000m) and Group 1 Victoria Derby (2500m) most notably. Running sixth in the Hobartville Stakes before winning the Randwick Guineas, the So You Think colt is drawn well and will be partnered by Tommy Berry once more on Saturday.

Gingernuts ($6)

Gingernuts will make his Australian debut in the Rosehill Guineas and his class is sure to count for plenty in the Group 1 feature. Returning to winning form in the Nicholson Autos BM65 (1600m) on January 30th, the Iffraaj gelding posted his first black type win in the Group 2 Avondale Guineas (2100m) on February 18th before storming home to win the Group 1 New Zealand Derby (2400m) on March 14th. The only query is whether or not Gingernuts will enjoy a step back in distance, but he is rock-hard fit leading into the Rosehill Guineas.
