This year the coveted $500, 000 Group 1 Dubai Rosehill Guineas (2000m) has attracted a less than capacity field of just 12 nominations.

Thompson also has his three-year-olds Gathering, Run For Naara and Saint Encosta nominated for the set weights feature.
The highest rated nominee is the John Wallace-trained Shoot Out, aiming for esteemed Guineas double after he took out the Group 1 Randwick Guineas last start. To date the High Chaparral gelding has saluted in four of his nine career starts, the Gold Coast-trained runner looking well positioned to secure back-to-back Group 1 wins on Saturday.
Shoot Out’s performance in the Rosehill Guineas, his first start over 1600m, will determine whether Wallace sends his star onto the AJC Derby (2400m) on April 10 or aims instead for the Doncaster Mile (1600m) on April 17.
Shoot Out defeated Viking Legend, Captain Sonador and Zabrasive respectively in the Randwick Guineas, and all but Viking Legend who has been spelled have also been nominated for the Rosehill Guineas.
Australia’s leading trainer Bart Cummings has nominated his talented Fastnet Rock colt Rock Classic for Saturday. Another nominee is the David Hayes-trained Extra Zero. The Danzero colt had an impressive win in the Group 2 Caulfield Autumn Classic two starts back, but backed it up with a listless ninth place in the Group 1 Australian Cup and will be looking to improve on this and secure a Group 1 victory if he gains a start this Saturday.
